When I first heard Elon was buying Twitter I didn't think it could be the source of my next growth hack. I pride myself on finding ways to grab underpriced attention. Just like Gary Vee but without all the shouting.
Nothing could have prepared me for the results I was going to get from this. I think you're going to like this one.
Traffic to the Twitter advertising platform was up 22.4% in November.
This got me interested. Next, a number of marketers I follow were saying Twitter is the most underpriced attention on the internet. I started to get excited. I decided to find out.
The RESULTS have blown me away.
I haven't looked at the Twitter Ads platform in about 7 years. That was the last time I ran ads on Twitter. I can't speak to how it was then because I can't remember but it's much easier to use now. The targeting is more in-depth and you can pick the accounts that you want to follow.
I decided to test this with my publishing company. I picked a range of other self-publishing accounts or accounts that serve writing advice to aspiring writers. I then narrowed it down by age, interests, location, and all the other criteria. You can even select the devices they use.
And here are the results.
£0.01 a click!
Yup, that is not a typo.
Now, how many customers have I got? Well, this is where there is a twist. The tracking pixel has been a little troublesome to get set up. Mostly because I am not a developer so now a developer has sorted this it should be working in 24 hours.
I'm going to keep running this experiment for another 7 to 14 days with the pixel, try some video ads, and a few other strategies. This might just be the best opportunity to acquire new customers on the internet at the moment.
Like any platform, this won't last forever so seize the opportunity while you can.
Will update you in a couple of weeks 📈
